About Hair

“Your hair is a statement of health, style, an affirmation of beauty, and an expression of self-love”

Hair has protective functions. It is the major natural protection against the sun’s harmful ultra-violet rays. It also plays an important role in preventing trauma to the skull. Hair is integral to body image and has a profound influence on self-esteem and self-confidence. Hair also serves decorative & communicative functions. A full, glossy head of hair is a signal of youthfulness, vigour, and desirability.

Each hair on our head follows its own independent 3-phase growth cycle

ANAGEN
Growth Phase)
In this phase, hair growth takes place. At any point, about 80-85% of all hair strands are in this phase. The duration of this phase could be anywhere between 2 to 7 years. This Phase is longest in people with healthy hair.

CATAGEN
(Transition Phase)
During this phase the hair stops growing and the follicle shrinks. This short phase lasts 2-4 weeks.

TELOGEN
(Rest Phase)
Hair shedding takes place in this phase. Almost 15-20% of hair on your head, at any given point of time, are in this phase.
